What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy helps restore movement, improve strength, and reduce pain—without surgery or medication. Results from a study in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation showed that physical therapy does reduce pain and improve functional status in the patient with chronic low back pain. In addition, the Mayo Clinic has run clinical trials for physical therapy services in various settings, supporting the use of the service. At Portland Physical Therapy and Fitness, our approach is hands-on and personalized. Every session is 1-on-1 with your licensed physical therapist. No assistants. No cookie-cutter plans.
We work with people recovering from surgery, healing sports injuries, managing chronic pain, improving balance and mobility, or aiming to perform at a higher level. Each plan is customized and may include manual therapy, corrective exercises, mobility work, and posture training. You’ll also leave with a clear home program to stay on track between visits.
The goal: Get you moving safely and confidently—so you can live, train, and feel your best.
