Physical Therapy Treatment in Portland, OR
What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy is more than just recovery, it’s about restoring movement, rebuilding strength, and improving overall function. At Evolution Healthcare Chiropractic Portland, our skilled physical therapists specialize in treating musculoskeletal conditions with a combination of hands-on therapy, movement-based rehabilitation, and personalized patient education.
Whether you’re healing from surgery, managing chronic pain, or aiming to enhance physical performance, our team is committed to guiding you every step of the way. By addressing the root causes of pain and mobility issues, we help patients regain confidence in their movement and achieve long-term results.
How Does Physical Therapy Work?
Physical therapy is all about structured, intentional movement. Our PTs use a mix of soft tissue therapies, rehabilitation exercises, and mobility training to help patients recover and improve function. Every session is hands-on—your therapist will guide you through targeted exercises, correct movement patterns, and ensure you’re performing them effectively.
Unlike conventional approaches where patients are quickly handed off to assistants, our PTs work directly with you for the entire session. This ensures consistency, faster progress, and better outcomes. Additionally, we integrate in-office therapy with at-home exercises to reinforce progress and maintain long-term benefits.
What Does Physical Therapy Treat?
Our physical therapy program covers a wide range of conditions, including:
- Post-Surgical Rehabilitation – ACL reconstruction, spinal surgery, rotator cuff repairs, and joint replacements.
- Sports Injuries – Sprains, strains, tendonitis, and overuse injuries.
- Chronic Pain – Back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, and joint discomfort.
- Mobility & Balance Issues – Gait training, postural correction, and fall prevention.
- Soft Tissue & Muscular Dysfunctions – Myofascial pain, muscle imbalances, and movement dysfunctions.
Every treatment plan is tailored to the patient’s specific needs, ensuring the best possible recovery and performance.
Benefits of Physical Therapy
Physical therapy isn’t just about injury recovery—it’s a proactive tool for improving overall health. Some of the key benefits include:
- Pain Reduction – Address the root causes of discomfort without relying on medication.
- Enhanced Mobility & Flexibility – Regain full range of motion and improve overall movement patterns.
- Injury Prevention – Strengthen weak areas to reduce the risk of future injuries.
- Post-Surgical Recovery – Accelerate healing and restore function following surgery.
- Improved Athletic Performance – Fine-tune movement mechanics and boost strength for peak physical performance.
How Physical Therapy is Different from Chiropractic Care
Both physical therapy and chiropractic care focus on musculoskeletal health, but they approach treatment differently. While chiropractic care primarily targets spinal alignment and joint health, physical therapy is more focused on movement rehabilitation and muscle re-education.
A major distinction is post-surgical rehab—physical therapists specialize in recovery programs for procedures like ACL repairs, joint replacements, and spinal surgeries. At Evolution Healthcare Chiropractic Portland, our Personal Trainers and chiropractors work closely together to create comprehensive treatment plans that blend both disciplines, ensuring patients receive the best of both worlds.
What to Expect From Our Process of Treatment
From your very first session, we take a hands-on, individualized approach to your recovery. Here’s what you can expect:
- Initial Evaluation (1 Hour) – A detailed history, movement assessment, and physical examination to pinpoint the root of the issue.
- Immediate Treatment Begins – We don’t just talk about the problem—we start working on it right away with hands-on techniques and guided exercises.
- Personalized Home Program – A customized set of exercises and stretches to continue progress between visits.
- Ongoing Hands-On Care – Every session is one-on-one with your therapist, ensuring consistent progress.
We believe in empowering patients with the knowledge and tools to take control of their recovery and long-term health.
Physical Therapy for Athletes

Our physical therapists specialize in sports rehabilitation, helping athletes recover from injuries, optimize movement patterns, and build strength to prevent future setbacks.
Whether you’re dealing with a sprain, muscle tear, or post-surgical recovery, we create targeted treatment plans that match your sport’s specific demands. We emphasize active rehabilitation, ensuring athletes not only heal but return stronger and more resilient.
